Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham continues to affirm his status as a future Ballon d’Or contender after scoring a brace in their 2-1 win over rivals Barcelona in Saturday’s El Classico at the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium.

Bellingham,20, opened his account in the 68th minute with a long-range effort from outside the box to pull Madrid level after İlkay Gündoğan gave Barca a 6th-minute lead.

The midfielder delivered a master class on technical ability with a 25-yard ‘screamer’ into the top right corner to register his 12th goal of the season.

Bellingham’s second goal was equally as brilliant as it was dramatic. The Englishman delivered the decisive blow in the 92nd minute after sneaking behind the defender to tap in goal 13 of the season, dropping the gavel on an enticing clash between the rivals.

The result ensures Madrid retain their lead atop La Liga with 28 points, four ahead of Champions Barca, who remain third on 24 points.
