“I know Jesus is with me,” – that was the sentiment from Pop megastar Justin Bieber, as he shared that his Christian faith has helped him to find some peace in the midst of what is understandably a frightening time for him as he deals with partial paralysis in his face.
Bieber, of course, revealed that he has been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome over the weekend, a disease that causes paralysis of muscles in the face.
The optimism-filled message which was shared on his Instagram read: “I know this storm will pass but in the meantime I know Jesus is with me.”
On Monday, Bieber posted on his Instagram story, saying he “wanted to share a bit of how I’ve been feelin”.
“Each day has gotten better and through all of the discomfort I have found comfort in the one who designed me and knows me, I’m reminded he knows all of me. He knows the darkest parts of me that I want no one to know about and he constantly welcomes me into his loving arms. This perspective has given me peace during this horrific storm that I’m facing,” he concluded.
Last week, the singer shared a three-minute video to his 240 million followers, on the severity of how he has been affected.
Ramsay Hunt syndrome is an illness that is said to occur when a shingles outbreak affects the facial nerve near someone’s ears.
Symptoms could include a painful rash inside the ear and outside the ear, at times attacking the tongue and roof of the mouth, as well as vertigo and tinnitus.
In Bieber’s case, the disease can also cause paralysis on the side of the face which is affected by the virus.
