Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema continues to have a prolific season under manager Carlos Ancelotti after netting a double in their 3-0 win over Mallorca to ten points clear on Monday.

Benzema who’ been in Ballon D’or form as a of late extended his la Liga tally to 22 goals, after scoring in the 77th and 82nd minute via penalty to add to striker partner Brazilian Vinicius Jr’s 55th-minute opener, a Los Blanco competed for the routing.

The win which is Madrid’s fifth in a row and 20th of the season solidifies their stronghold on the La Liga title race, as they move to 66 points 10 clear of second-placed Sevilla 56 and 15 ahead of rival Barcelona 51.

This is his fifth goal in two games after a hattrick performance to rescue Madrid and sink PSG in last week’s Champions League round of 16 fixture.

Madrid will next play host to Barca in the highly anticipated El Classico on Sunday at Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, Madrid.
