“Big Brother” contestant Luke Valentine was ejected from the popular reality show on Wednesday after using the N-word on camera.
Valentine’s indiscretion happened during a conversation with three other contestants, which was streamed live on Paramount+ on Tuesday night, Variety reports. The feed has since been removed.
In a statement, parent company CBS confirmed Valentine’s departure noting that he violated the show’s code of conduct.
CBS also stressed it had “zero tolerance in the house for using a racial slur.”
It’s further understood that his exit would be addressed on Thursday night’s episode.
Following the incident, the network came under pressure to pull Valentine, as many social media users expressed outrage at the language.
“Production should remove Luke. Set an example. Show current and future players that language like that will not be tolerated. #BB25,” former winner Andy Herren tweeted.
His announced eviction from the house was applauded by many online users.
The reality competition show, which follows people living together in a house, is no stranger to controversy.
