Fireworks are expected at the Xiamen Diamond League on Saturday as the showdown between Yohan Blake, Ackeem Blake, Fred Kerley, and Chris Coleman highlights a star-studded men’s 100m.
The race will be the first men’s 100m since last week’s World Championships and the first major outing in two weeks for Yohan Blake, who failed to make the team for Budapest.
The former champ has shown improvement since national trials and will be seeking to test his form against a quality field as he continues his preparation for the upcoming Olympics.
Kerley, who was relieved of the 100 metre crown at the Championships, will also be seeking a rebound result in China.
The race will also renew the rivalry between Ackeem Blake and the USA’s Chris Coleman, who is also set to line up on Saturday.
Blake, who has beaten Coleman twice out of three meetings, will be looking to extend the statistic when he settles in the block.
Olympic champion Lamont Marcell Jacobs is also listed as a competitor in the post-champs meet. The Italian, who had a turbulent season, will be looking to test his mental fortitude when he lines up in China.
National champion Rohan Watson and compatriot Kishane Thompson will be the other Jamaicans looking to deliver big performances on Saturday.
