Controversial US church leader- Pastor Lamor Whitehead, known as the “Bling Bishop,” was sentenced to 9 years behind bars on Monday for defrauding a parishioner’s mother out of her life savings, among other scam-related charges.

The sentence was handed down in a Manhattan federal court following testimonies from the financially devasted victims of Whitehead’s scams, as well as the now-convicted pastor also exposed a list of high-ranking officials he has dealt with.

“I don’t see any remorse for your conduct,” Judge Lorna Schofield said during the sentencing as she described the evidence as “frankly overwhelming.”

The judgement comes two months after a jury in March found the pastor from Leaders of Tomorrow International Ministries in Canarsie guilty of five counts, including wire fraud, attempted extortion, and lying to the FBI, as per the New York Daily News.

He was also found guilty on related charges connected to three separate schemes that saw him fleece tens of thousands of dollars from unsuspecting victims.
