The King of Reggae, Bob Marley, continued his reign among top earners after his death, ranking seventh on Forbes’ “The Highest-Paid Dead Celebrities Of 2024.”
The recently published 2024 update estimated that Marley and his brand generated an estimated US $34 million over the past 12 months through a combination of income, including royalties, merchandise sales, and “licensing opportunities.”
The ranking sees Marley jump two from last year’s ninth placing following a US $16 million haul.
According to Forbes, the legend’s earnings spiked in 2024 following the release of his maiden biopic Bob Marley: One Love.
The Paramount-produced project broke several records on its way to becoming a box office smash, pulling an estimated $180 million globally and $96 million in the US alone to be the fifth-grossing Musician Biopic of all time.
While Marley was among several shuffles in the top ten, which included children’s book author Dr Sues( #3 • $75 Million) and “King of Rock n Roll” Elvis Presley(#4 with 50 million). The King of Pop, Micheal Jackson, remained unchallenged at the summit with a mammoth of $600 million earned, up from $116 in 2024
