Eastern Conference top-seed Boston Celtics were upset by Western Conference seventh-ranked LA Clippers after going down 113-93 as they slump to their second loss in as many games at the Crypto.com Arena, Los Angeles, on Monday night.
The Celtics who have been one of the more consistent teams this season were seeking to rebound from their 13-point loss to the Current champion Golden State Warriors with a win over the Clippers and seemed to be still reeling from the sting of that loss.
The 2022 NBA finalists looked anything but championship ready as they trailed in all four quarters of the game-25-29,27-22,32-25 and 25-21 as they looked like a distracted bunch failing to shift out of first gear in LA.
Kawhi Leonard- 25 points, nine rebounds, and Paul George-26 points with six rebounds were enough for the Clippers to overpower Boston on the night.
Jayson Tatum with a team-high 20 points was the only resistance offered by a lackluster Celtics who conceded just their seventh loss of the season.
Despite the result, Boston remains atop the perch of the East with 21 wins, they will have another chance of adding to the record on Tuesday night when they face the LA Lakers.
The Clippers who move to their 17th win of the season will also, be seeking to improve their record on Wednesday when they face Minnesota Timberwolves
