Bridge 99 FM, in collaboration with Irie Jam, New York has partnered with public relations agency PRETC Limited to host the “Make a Child Smile This Christmas” holiday treat for the Maxfield Park Children’s Home.

The event will include a fun-filled day of performances, games, a traditional Jamaican Christmas dinner and the distribution of gifts to each child. Make a Child Smile This Christmas will be held on December 15, 2022 from 2-5 PM at the Maxfield Park Home at 89 Maxfield Avenue.

The initiative sparked from a relationship developed from a prior project. Through further conversation with the Board of Directors at the Children’s Home, and with the Christmas season fast approaching, the two radio stations and PR company have joined forces to support the Home’s Annual Christmas Dinner and add a little flare.

The Maxfield Park Children’s Home is Jamaica’s oldest children’s home, having been in operation since 1918. It is one of the private childcare facilities under the supervision of the Child Protection & Family Services Agency (CPFSA), an executive agency of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Information, Jamaica.

The children are admitted after they have been determined to be in need of care and protection as provided by the Child Care & Protection Act (2004), and their ages range from newborns to 18-year-olds.

The home also operates an early childhood preschool and a school for children with special needs that provides instruction where services are lacking in the public school system.

Join the Bridge 99FM, Irie Jam and PRETC in making the 15th of December a wonderful and memorable occasion for the children of the Maxfield Park Children’s Home – “Make a Child Smile This Christmas”!
