Dancehall/Reggae icons Buju Banton (the Gargamel), Shabba Ranks (the Emperor) along with rapper Lil Wayne are featured on the first single of the soundtrack for “The Book Of Clarence” which is also the audio track for the official trailer.

The track is titled “Hallelujah Heaven” and is written and produced by the British filmmaker Jeymes Samuel, who also sings on the track.

In a statement, Samuel said “There was never a question as to whether I would compose the score and write and perform on the soundtrack, as well as write and direct the movie — it was all one amazing journey where one depended on the other. But I also worked with the most awesome artistes on our track ‘Hallelujah Heaven.’ Collaborating with Lil’ Wayne, Buju Banton, and Shabba Ranks was so dope, I loved getting them all on the same track.”

He added that he wanted three specific features on the track. He said, “I approached Lil Wayne, I approached Buju Banton, and I approached Shabba Ranks and they all resonated with the song and did it.

The Gagamel posted the song to his socials and captioned it “Only Jah works!”, Shabba also posted it to his social media.

The Book of Clarence is a movie about a man struggling to find a better life and is enamored by the rising of the messiah.

The trailer was released Tuesday with the track and the movie is set for premiere on January 12, 2024.
