Reggae Girlz top striker Khadija “Bunny” Shaw improved her goal tally in the Women’s Super League (WSL) to double digits on Saturday, after being on target in Manchester City’s 2-0 win over Leicester City to extend her lead in the Golden Boot race.

Shaw who entered the fixture as the league’s joint leader on nine goals and Aston Villa’s Rachel Daley created some separation following another brilliant performance at the King Power on the Weekend.

The Jamaican scored City’s opening goal in the 61st minute, providing a well-deserved reward for the lady Citizen’s relentless attacks on a sturdy Leicester defense.

That goal was also Shaw’s 17th in all competitions and fifth in her last three games.

That initial penetration seemingly created a weak point in the home team’s armor which the visiting Manchester City players quickly exploited with a second strike in the 74th-minute courtesy of Chloe Kelly.

Despite the readjustment by Leicester City, it was a bit overdue as Man City held on for the win and three points.

The win pushes the former champs to third in the table with 26 points two points behind leaders Manchester United-28 points with a game in hand.
