Khadija “Bunny” Shaw continued her prolific form with Women’s Super League team Manchester City after scoring in their 2-0 victory over Women’s Champions League holders Barcelona in Group action.
“Bunny’s goal came in the 77th as the fruit of a sustained late surge by the English team to double their advantage after Naomi Layzell opened scoring for the “Cityzens” in the 36th minute.
Shaw showed excellent patience and composure under pressure as she timed her run perfectly to meet a long pass from midfield by Layzell before rounding the defender inside the box and pulling the trigger on a well-placed shot to the far right corner of the goal.
That was the underlining factor between the two as City completed the upset over the Three-time winners, taking the lead in the group.
City, who are second in the WSL standings, will next be in action on October 20 against Wolves before facing Sparta Praha three days later for their second Champions League fixture.
