“Bunny” Shaw wins Barclays WSL Player of The Season Award

It continues to be a stellar season for Reggae Girlz captain Khadija “Bunny” Shaw as she was named the 2023/24 Barclays Women’s Super League(WSL) Player of the Season.

Shaw, a favourite among this year’s nominees was confirmed the winner by the WSL on Friday.

The win makes it back-to-back awards for the Manchester City striker, who also captured her maiden Football Writers’ Association (FWA) Women’s Player of The Season Award last week for standout performances this season.

The Reggae Girlz striker, who’s recovering from a broken leg, has been phenomenal for City this season, bagging 21 goals in 18 Super League appearances as the former champions continue a strong press for the title this season.

With one game remaining in the season, Shaw looks set to claim her first WSL Golden Boot Award as her nearest challenger, Chelsea’s Lauren James, remains eight goals behind with 13.
