Afrobeat star Burna Boy allegedly turned down a $5 million dollar show in Dubai because of its strict no-smoking policy.

Burna made the jaw-dropping claim in a freestyle during rehearsal with his band, which was uploaded to his Instagram account on Tuesday.

Just now I turned down Dubai money, 5 million dollar na small thing cos me I no dey like to dey go where dem no go gree allow me smoke igbo,” Burna sang in the clip.

The ‘Last Last’ hitmaker, who has been very open about his love for the herb, seemed unphased by the decision and used the situation to underscore his superstar status and the astronomical figures he commands or turns down.

While the ‘African Giant‘ was nonchalant about the matter, fans were split on his purported decision.

Smoking in Dubai has been banned since 2008 in indoor public places such as shops, shopping malls, restaurants, offices, government buildings, schools, hospitals, universities, cafes, hotel lobbies etc,” according to Travellingtopic.com.

Burna is currently on tour to support his most recent album, “I Told Them.”
