Brazilian star Casemiro is seeking a new challenge according to Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti. This is said to be the main reason for the midfielder’s impending move to Manchester United in the summer transfer.

According to reports both clubs have agreed to a € 70 million transfer for the 30 year old in a deal which is said to be a four arrangement.

Negotiations is said to have progressed quickly and United are optimistic for the completion of the deal in the next two days.

“The negotiations are ongoing right now, he is still our player but his will is to leave,” Ancelotti said

“I have spoken with him. Casemiro, for what he has done and the person he is, we must respect that desire ” the Italian added.

“Casemiro wants a new challenge and we understand his feeling, I do not think there is a way back ” he closed.

United’s deal for the player is understood to be an initial 60m euros, plus 10m euros in add-ons.

News of this deal comes as the prospect of landing Barcelona midfielder Frankie DeJong dwindles and the collapsed deal with Juventus play maker Adrian Rabbiot last week over wage disagreement.

United manager Erik ten Hag refused to comment on Casemiro speculation at his news conference on Friday, saying: “I cannot tell anything.”

Casemiro, who has been with Real since 2013, has won it all with Los Blancos including; three La Liga titles and five Champions Leagues. He was left out Madrid’s squad which is set to face Celta Vigo in La Liga on Saturday.
