Many times NBA Champion Boston Celtics will face fellow past champions Golden State Warriors in the 2022 NBA final after beating the Miami Heat 100-96 in Game 7 of the NBA play offs on Sunday.

In one the most intense play offs game in this season, the Celtics came out on top of an unpredictable encounter.

The Celtics who started the stronger of the two rushing to a 32-17 lead in the first before trailing 32-23 in the second, edged to a 26-27 lead in the third. Despite Miami claiming the fourth and final quarter 21-18 rush the damage was already done as the 2021 finalist fell four points short of leveling.

Despite Jimmy Butler having a game high 35 points with nine rebounds it was no match for Celtics triple threat of Jayson Tatutm, Jaylen Brown and Marcus Smart, 26 and 24 points respectively.

The result saw the Celtics take 4-3 series win to book their first return to their finals since 2010. They will now face the 2019 finalist Warrior who had beaten the Dallas Mavericks 4-1 last week to reserve their finals spot.

Game 1 of the NBA finale is set to tip off on Thursday June 2 Chase Center.
