Social media influencer Chiney K, whose given name is Kerry Ann Collins, has landed a prestigious deal with Netflix’s Money Heist series.

The influencer will collaborate with the marketing arm of the hit series and has been asked to create content to accompany the vocals for Latin star Becky G’s Bella Ciao remix, which is featured in the soundtrack for the season finale of the series.

Money Heist, originally titled La Casa de Papel, which stories a group of robbers attempting to carry out the most daring robbery in Spanish history by stealing $2.4 billion euros from the Royal Mint of Spain, is one of the most popular Netflix series worldwide. It has been described as the biggest television series in the world and just released its fifth and final season this past September.

According to Parrot Analytics, a data company that measures audience demand, which reflects viewers’ engagement with and desire for a series, the show was 78.9 times more in demand than the average series worldwide.

The deal landed with Netflix came about through Collins referencing the series in various posts on social media, she explained.

“Like everyone else, I am a huge fan of Money Heist since its inception. After watching the first half of the final series in September, I had created a few videos on Tiktok which caught their eye.” Collins said in a recent interview.

“I was so excited when the show’s marketing agency reached out to me to collaborate. It certainly speaks to the power of social media. By being associated with an international platform like Netflix and a very popular series like Money Heist, not only do I get access to a global audience, but it is also a win for brand Jamaica,” she added.

Chiney K has been a main figure in the Jamaican social media spaces over the years, with over 300k followers on all her platforms.
