National Senior Football men’s coach Paul Hall has called for a renewal of the football programme as they set their sights on the future beyond Qatar 2022.
Hall stated his suggestion of a rebuilt team during a post-match press conference following the Boyz’s 1-0 loss to Costa Rica on Wednesday night.
“We got to rebuild. I think we’ve just got to rebuild, it’s as simple as that,” he said. “We have to take the example of Canada, take the example of the US, and just rebuild the squad,” Hall said while responding to questions about the future of the senior programme.
The former national midfielder also asserted that a full review of the performers will need to be assessed and taken into account in how the direction of the team goes forward.
“We’ve got to have a look at who’s performed and who hasn’t performed… and that will be my recommendation to rebuild going forward,” he concluded.
The Reggae Boyz, who languish second from bottom of the CONCACAF World Cup qualifier table, are hanging by a string in their hopes of advancing, as they await the verdict on sanctions against Coast Rica Football Federation.
It was reported that COVID-positive Costa Rica players took part in a must-win match against the Reggae Boyz despite being told to isolate on Wednesday.
