A man wanted by US authorities for twenty years in connection to a fatal shooting in Cincinnati was reportedly found working as a police officer in Mexico.

According to reports, the incident which happened in 2004 saw the fugitive identified as Antonio “El Diablo” Riano, caught on surveillance arguing with a man at a bar in Cincinnati, which later turned deadly following their heated exchange.

it’s understood that Raino pulled a gun during the confrontation which continued outside and shot the man in the face before fleeing the scene.

Despite being among the US’ most wanted criminals list, for the past two decades, it’s further understood that investigators stopped actively looking for him after a few years, until recently when a detective found “El Diablo” through social media.

Paul Newton, a former deputy on the 2004 case who currently works for the Butler County Prosecutor’s Office, was shocked to find the man he had been searching for decades later on Facebook. He was even more surprised by his new identity as a lawman in the Mexcian state of Oaxaca.

“I’m like, ‘My God, there he is!’” Newton told WKRC. “A little bit grayer, a little bit older, but it was him.”

 Following confirmation of Raino’s employment at Zapotitlan Palmas Police Department, Mexican authorities agreed to his extradition to US marshals where he was subsequently charged with murder in Ohio.
