“Deadpool and Wolverine” continue to shred the competition at the box office after passing the billion-dollar mark in its third week of release.

According to reports, the Marvel-produced film which broke box office records for opening weekend release sits at $1.03 billion globally as it remains the number one movie for a third week.

It’s also on course to surpass $1.079 billion earned by the “Joker” during its run, making it the biggest R-rated movie ever.

The Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman film is just the second movie this year to cross the billion-dollar mark following the hugely successful Pixar animation “Inside Out” which has so far churned out $1.5 Billion.

Given that Reynolds’s wife Blake Lively stars in the second best seller at the US box office with “It Ends With US”, it’s also the first time in 34 years that a married couple simultaneously hold the top two spots.
