A 43-year-old motorcyclist has died as a result of injuries that he sustained from a vehicular collision on Marcus Garvey Drive, Kingston 14 on Wednesday, November 23.
The deceased has been identified as Herbert Reid of Nelson Street, Denham Town in Kingston.
It is reported that around 10:45 a.m., the driver of a Toyota Wish motorcar stopped along the roadway to check on the vehicle’s bumper.
It’s understood that while the driver was in the midst of making checks, Reid’s motorcycle collided with the rear of the Toyota Wish.
The victim sustained multiple injuries and was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead. Additionally, an investigation has been launched to ascertain the circumstances that led to the fatal collision.
So far, 423 persons have lost their lives in motor vehicle accidents. This figure as outlined by the Road Safety Unit in the Transport Ministry, 5 more than total number of victims that have lost their lives in road fatalities in the corresponding period.
