Comedian turned Artiste; Deno Crazy is reviving the Polo fashion wave with his ‘Polo fi days’ single.
The song, which is an Ode to the clothing line, has jumped to the number 2 most streamed songs and videos in Jamaica on YouTube, since its release on March 5.
The video has racked up over 419,000 views to give a strong indication of its popularity and that the Polo wave may come back with a vengeance.
A trend which had a brief highlight in 2020 with the song ‘Polo’ by Hot Frass featuring Take ova.
Deno, who is known for his humorous online skits, shows off his versatility with Polo for days, signaling that his creativity extends beyond the laughter.
The track itself is a solid effort from Deno and the video, of course, possesses elements of comedy which made for entertaining viewing.
Over the years, dancehall artists have been successful in breathing life into fashion culture from Vybz Kartel’s Clarks in 2010, his follow up Straight Jeans to Hot frass’ Polo.
Given the speed at which Jamaican interests change, only time will tell if Polo for days will be trend beyond that.
