Angel Di Maria, Thomas Müller and Olivier Giroud have joined the list of football stars making their exit from international duties after announcing retirement from their respective national teams.

Reigning World Cup champion Angel Di Maria, who helped Argentina toward their Cup success in the 2022 final against France, revealed his intentions to step away from international duties following their Copa Final next week.

Di Maria, 35 announced his decision via Instagram following Argentina’s 2-0 win over Canada in the Copa semis on Tuesday.

Fellow World Cup winners, Giroud and Muller, however, played their last international games following France and Germany’s respective semi-final exits from the Euros after noted football journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed their retirements on Wednesday.
