KINGSTON, Jamaica — Keanan Dols will become the second Jamaican newbie on the team to realise his dream at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games when he dives into action in the men’s 200-metre butterfly on Monday.

The America-based swimmer, who will be the country’s lone competitor on the day, is scheduled to take the pool for heat one at 5:16 am.

Dols, a Westmoreland native, is the third Jamaican swimmer to qualify for an Olympic Games since the start of the century and the seventh male in the country’s overall history.

While he is not expected to challenge for a medal on this occasion, the experience will certainly serve him well to achieve new targets to possibly represent Jamaica at the Long Course World Championships and the Commonwealth Games next year.

Dols, 22, will also contest the 200-metre individual medley (IM) at the Tokyo Games on Wednesday, an event for which he is the Jamaican record holder with a time of 2:02.15.
