Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Paula Llewellyn has pointed out that she’s still awaiting forensic evidence in the case involving Nzinga King after making a request to the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) last month.
The case in question involves the Rastafarian woman, Nzinga King, who was allegedly trimmed while in police custody at the Four Paths Police Station in Clarendon on July 22, 2021.
Following this event, an investigation was launched by INDCEOM into allegations of assault and or professional conduct by the police.
These subsequent results were then brought to the office of the DPP for a ruling in November.
As it stands, INDECOM has cautioned that any ruling by the DPP would not affect Ms King’s ability to pursue civil remedies.
