Rap superstar Drake may have found the going tough during his lyrical feud with musical rivals Kendrick Lamar; however, his fans globally had the final say after he retained his spot as the top streamed rapper for the eighth consecutive year following “Spotify Wrapped.

Drizzy, who was embroiled in several rap feuds this year, including his colossal square-off with Lamar, for which many deemed a loss, maintained a commanding level of streams from his catalogue, emerging as the second-most listened-to artiste overall behind pop star Taylor Swift.

Despite the seeming L in that bout, it did little to phase the “6 god’s” listenership with Spotify’s highly anticipated annual recap re-affirmed Drake’s stronghold overall in the genre both in the US and in the world.

Rival’s Lamar, Future and Metro Boomin were ranked as the fifth, sixth and seventh most listened-to rap, respectively in the US while missing out on the top 10 globally.
