Drake reportedly becomes first artiste to gain 70 billion streams on Spotify

October’s very own Drake, continues to solidify his name in music history after becoming the first artiste to break 70 million streams on Spotify according to Chart Data.

The feat was officially recognized on Monday.

  Drizzy who has been notarized as the fourth most streamed artiste in 2022 as at October, was noted to have achieved the landmark feat on the platform on Monday.

This comes five months after the OVO boss with 5 billion streams as at May, led the pack as the most streamed artiste of the year.

According to reports and chart data, Drake is well ahead of his competitors with his nearest competition Bad Bunny second with 50.4 billion streams followed by Justin Bieber and Ed Sheeran third and fourth with 42.3 and 41.1 billion Spotify streams respectively.

It’s also understood that the ‘Laugh now cry later’ hitmaker is the most streamed on other platforms such as Apple Music and Pandora.

In August it was reported that the Canadian musician earned over 160 billion streams across all platforms globally.

On Monday Drake announced that he’ll be performing at the iconic Apollo Theater stage in Harlem on Nov. 11 for a special concert in partnership with SiriusXM.
