Ebony Drysdale-Daley will mark another historic occasion for Jamaica in Judo when she takes the floor for competition at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games on Tuesday.
The 26-year-old Drysdale-Daley is scheduled to contest the Women’s 70Kg category where Portugal’s Barbara Timo will be her first opponent in the Elimination Round of 32. That match is set for 9:19 pm.
Drysdale-Daley is the country’s first-ever competitor in the sport to qualify for the Olympic Games.
The Britain-based Judoka first etched her name in Jamaica’s history books two years ago when she won gold at the Commonwealth Games Judo Championships in Birmingham, United Kingdom.
