Equatorial Guinea Vice President Teodoro Obiang Mangue has reportedly warned that “severe measures” will be taken against civil servants caught having sex in their offices following the leak of hundreds of allegedly explicit videos.

The videos reportedly involve high-ranking civil servant Baltasar Ebang Engonga having sex with various women – including the wives of prominent officials – in his office, as per BBC News.

VP Mangue announced the update in a statement on Tuesday, which said -The decision had been taken in the wake of the widely circulated videos which had “denigrated the image of the country”, the BBC reports.

It added that he had recommended opening an investigation.

It’s understood that the videos in question were discovered following Mr Engonga’s arrest on separate corruption charges, state television TVGE said.

Mr Engonga and Equatorial Guinea dominated trending topics online globally as the videos continued viral circulation on the web.
