An amputee was shot and killed on Oxford Street in downtown Kingston on Monday.

The deceased has since been identified as 48-year-old Debbie ‘ Eaton, of Rema in Kingston.

Reports are that about 8 a.m., Eaton was in the area when she was pounced upon by a lone gunman who shot her.

The assailant then fled the area.

She was rushed to hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The corporate communications unit (CCU) confirmed the incident and said the West Kingston police are investigating.

No motive has been established for the killing.
