Veteran singer George Nooks had his bail extended when he appeared in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court court this morning.

Nooks’, legal stem from charges of possession of cocaine and perverting the course of justice.

Last October Nooks pleaded not guilty to the charges and received bail in the sum of $300,000.

Reports are that Nooks was at a plaza in the Corporate Area and tossed a bag containing a white powdery substance when he saw the police. He was picked up and a bottle with a clear substance was also found on him.

It is reported that Nooks managed to grab the bag with the white powder and swallowed the contents.

He was reportedly taken to a medical facility and then released from custody.

A case file and the results of the examination were sent to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions which ruled that he should be criminally charged.

He was re-arrested on the charge and slapped with an additional charge of perverting the course of justice.
