The People’s National Party, PNP on Tuesday presented the results of the June 2023 Don Anderson national poll and says the party is pulling ahead of the governing Jamaica Labour Party by 5.2 %.

The poll, commissioned by the PNP, has found that if an election were called today 30.2% of Jamaicans would vote for the PNP, this is an increase from 18% in 2022.

While 25% would vote for the Jamaica Labour Party down from 31% in 2022.

According to PNP President Mark Golding, the “surge” in support for his party shows they are now being seen as a “viable and preferred option” to guide Jamaica.

Additionally, those polled shows Golding closing in on favorability when compared to Prime Minister Andrew Holness.

It notes 53.2 per cent for Golding and 54 for Holness.

Meanwhile, the polls say 53.3% of Jamaicans believe that Jamaica is going in the wrong direction and an additional 31.1% think there has been no change.

The PNP is gearing up itself as a better choice for the people of Jamaica it says.
