“Good Burger 2” will be hitting screens soon after the sequel to the 1997 cult classic was given the green light to begin production, which will also see Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell reprise their role as the film’s original stars.

News of the film’s production was revealed by the duo on the popular talk show “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”

According to the two, production on the Nickelodeon film is set to start as early as May, with plans to debut it on the streaming platform Paramount+ later in 2023.

“I can’t believe it’s been a little over 25 years since great customer service was born at Good Burger!” Thompson said in a statement.

“Being a part of something so many generations of people have come to love has made me so proud, and now to be back where it all began working on the sequel is surreal!” he added.

“Love performing with my brother Kel and can’t wait to show the fans what these characters have been up to since we last saw them.”

“Good Burger” was started as a sketch on the Nickelodeon series “All That” which starred both Mitchell and Thompson, before being developed into a full-fledged film in 1997.

The film adaptation proved to be a box office success after grossing just under $24 million from its reported budget of $8 million.

It had later gone on to achieve cult status, with Mitchell and Thompson reuniting for a “Good Burger” sketch on “The Tonight Show” in 2015.

The pair had subsequently over the years shared their openness to part two of the film, which now seems to be manifesting this year.
