Fans of the iconic movie ‘Good Burger’ will soon get to enjoy their second serving of the cult classic following the release of the sequel’s teaser trailer.
The follow-up to the hit 1997 Nickelodeon film sees the original stars, Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell, reprise their roles as the quirky yet hilarious duo Dexter Reed and Ed.
The official logline for the film states that it “follows Dexter and original cashier Ed as they reunite in the present day at fast-food restaurant “Good Burger” with a hilarious new group of employees.”
The film, which was announced in March, is reportedly set for release on Paramount+ in the fall; however, an actual release date is yet to be announced.
The project is a Nickelodeon reunion of sorts, with the network producing the film and Kevin Kopelow and Heath Seifert who co-wrote the original film and “All That,” returning as writers and Executive Producers on the sequel.
‘Good Burger’ was originally created as a sketch on the popular Nickelodeon series “All That” in which Mitchell starred as Ed before it spun into a full-fledged film.
The comedy’s popularity was verified at the box office after pulling in $24 million against its reported $8 million budget.
