Guys Hill man pleads guilty to stealing bike

A 44-year-old man who stole a bike in Guys Hill in May of last year pleaded guilty following his appearance in the St Catherine Parish Court yesterday.

The accused, Derron Palmer, a labourer from the Guys Hill community in St Catherine, pleaded guilty to larceny.

Court documents revealed that on May 15, 2021, the complainant parked his bike underneath a tarpaulin at his residence when he later noticed that it was missing.

A report was later made to the Guys Hill police about the matter. On December 22, the complainant discovered another man in possession of his bike while he was in the community of Berkshire Hall near Guys Hill.

It is understood that the unidentified disclosed that the bike was purchased from Palmer leading to his arrest and subsequent charge.

In the interim, the accused is slated to be sentenced on April 11.
