Seven-time Formula One champion, Sir Lewis Hamilton eclipsed another one of Michael Schumacher’s records with his 3rd place finish at the Silverstone circuit in Great Britain on Sunday.
It was Hamilton’s third podium of the season and his first consecutive since the start of the year. With that feat, he moves past fellow seven-time World Champion Michael Schumacher to hold the record for the most podiums at Silverstone with 13.
His record at Silverstone is simply superb. Of his 16 starts at home, the Brit has won a record eight times, while standing on the podium a further two times. He has also had 10 consecutive podiums.
The Mercedes driver is currently enduring his worse start to a Formula One campaign since he stepped onto the grid back in 2007. He sits 6th in the championship standings, some 98 points adrift of leader and last year’s rival, Max Verstappen.
