Hansle Parchment logged a world lead and personal record of 12.93 seconds to claim the men’s 110 hurdles Diamond League title at the Prefontaine Classic in Eugene on Sunday.
Parchment, who copped silver at the World Championships last month, ran a lifetime best to turn the tables on rival Grant Holloway of the US, who was beaten into second with 13.06 seconds.
USA’s Daniel Roberts was just behind in third after posting 13.07 seconds to round out the top three.
Parchement’s win comes as little surprise after he indicated a return to his best with a sizzling 12.96-second performance at the Xiamen Diamond stop on September 2. That time was just shy of his 12.94-second personal record.
The result marks a strong turnaround from last season and is expected to be a strong moral boost ahead of his Olympic title defence in Paris, France, next year.
