It was heartbreak for Golden State Warriors in the NBA on Wednesday night as they clipped 123-119 by the Detroit Pistons following a late three-pointer to snap their five-game win streak.
The intense game seemed destined for overtime after Klay Thompson drained a spectacular three-pointer with 1.2 seconds remaining to tie the game at 119-119.
That play however set up for a more intense build-up for a dramatic climax as Sadik Bay held his composure to launch a perfectly timed three of his own at the buzzer following a time-out by Detroit.
That shot would be the most vital of his 17 points on the night as he steers the Pistons to the most dramatic of wins at the Chase Arena.
Bey’s performance supported the 29 points from Bojan Bogdanovic in Detroit’s win while Klay Thompson with 30 points was the best for Golden State in their cause.
The win is only Detroit’s 11th of the season as they continue their uphill battle to move second from bottom at the Eastern Conference while in the West the Warriors remain eight despite the loss.
