Hugh Graham, Councillor for the Lluidas Vale Division in North West St. Catherine, has tendered his resignation with immediate effect.

Mr Graham shared across all his social media platforms his immediate resignation.

He stated; “It is with great consideration that I have decided to tender my resignation in some of my official roles.”

The Member of Parliament also posted a copy of the letter sent to the hierarchy of the People’s National Party in which he stated, “As I had promised my mother if it should ever happen that I don’t think my purpose is to serve the people who have elected me, I would step away with the hope that they would be better served. I want to thank the people of Lluidas Vale Division who have allowed me to serve them from 2002 and as their Councillor since 2007.

While Mr Graham has resigned as Councillor, he remains a member of the House of Representatives.

It is understood that the secretariat of the PNP has acknowledged Mr Graham’s notice of resignation and have yet to give an official statement on the matter.
