The ‘Pokerface’ hitmaker sang ‘The Star-Spangled Banner’ as part of the event to mark President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris’ inauguration earlier today.

Lady Gaga sang the iconic song effortlessly from the West Front of the US Capitol, dressed in a navy blue jacket, a red dress and a gold dove pinned on her jacket.

Taking to Twitter after she sang, Lady Gaga called for peace, captioning the photograph:

“A dove carrying an olive branch. May we all make peace with each other.”

Jennifer Lopez sang ‘This Land is Your Land’ from the balcony of the famous building. But determined to put a J-Lo twist on her performance, Jennifer even managed to get a line of her song, ‘Let’s Get Loud ‘ into the performance before segueing back into the track.

The 51-year-old singer and actress also uttered a phrase from the Pledge of Allegiance in Spanish, saying: “One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”

And whilst Jennifer was no doubt nervous performing to such a big audience, her nerves didn’t show as she performed the song in a white and silver ensemble, paired with a white jacket, too.

Garth Brooks also attended to perform a rendition of ‘Amazing Grace’, asking everyone at the event in person, at home and at work to join in with the song too.

Addressing those present and the wider public, he said:

“I’m going to ask you to sing this last verse with me. Not just the people here, but the people at home, at work. As one, united.”

Garth had previously confirmed he would perform at Biden’s inauguration.

He said:

“In our household, this is not a political statement, this is a statement of unity. This is kind of how I get to serve this country. I’ve played for every president there is, since Carter, with the exception of Reagan. This is an honour for me to get to serve. And it’s one of the things that, if my family is around, no matter who the president-elect is, it’s an honour to be asked.”
