A major crack-down of illegal garages are being conducted by the municipal police in the corporate area with the assistance of the Jamaica Constabulary Force as the Information Minister says they are illegal.

The Minister said via TikTok that side-walk garages are illegal and pose a danger to persons going about their business.

Meanwhile, the Kingston and St. Andrew Municipal Corporation (KSAMC) police in the corporate area have confirmed that while they hear and understand the concerns of some members of the public, the crack-down will be for road side garages at this time.

The KSAMC will continue to partner with numerous police divisions, namely St Andrew Central, St Andrew North and St Andrew South to put a stop to the the illegal operations.
