Music from Reggae icon Ini Kamoze continues to resonate strongly with the masses as his 1994 hit “Here Comes The Hotstepper” earned its second platinum certification in the US for sales of two million units.

The updated status officially adjusted by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) on Friday comes nearly 20 years after its original platinum certification in December 1994.

The certification is the latest in a resurgence of global interest in the Dancehall classic, including being used in a viral Starbucks commercial in May.

Kamoze’s 1995 “Here Comes The Hottstepper” album, also re-entered the Reggae Billboard in May on the wave of the re-introduction of the Jamaican legend to newer audiences.
