Jamaica’s men’s team safely progressed to the 4X400m relay final at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games a short while ago.

The quartet of Demish Gaye, Jaheel Hyde, Karayme Bartley, and Nathon Allen, placed second in 2:59.29 minutes, behind Poland (2:58.55), with Belgium (2:59.37) third.

Gaye gave the Jamaicans a tidy start from lane four, as he made up the stagger passing on to Hyde, who kept pace with the leaders in fourth but left Bartley with some work to do on the third leg. 

That Bartley did, getting the final exchange to Allen in third and the latter ran a relaxed anchor leg before pressing gas in the straight to pip Belgium on the line.

Christopher Taylor is expected to strengthen the team for the final, scheduled for Saturday at 7:50 am.
