Agriculture Ministry says 25 Jamaican Red Poll cattle have been exported to the Cayman Islands which will aid with bolstering the country’s livestock industry.

This includes 22 heifers and three bulls, which were sourced through the Cattle Breeders Society of Jamaica.

This was done through the provision of improved cattle genetics.

According to the Ministry, the exportation of animals is one of several such arrangements arising out of bilateral talks between Jamaica and the Cayman Islands governments.

The intent is to enhance trade between and strengthen partnerships throughout the region.

The cattle departed the island from the Norman Manley International Airport on Thursday.
