A 78-year-old Jamaican man was shot and killed on Sunday in an apparent carjacking at a CVS in Orange County.
Orange County Sheriff officials have identified the deceased as Uken Lloyd Cummings.
According to Fox 35, Cummings drove to pick up a prescription at the CVS pharmacy, just seven minutes from his house. Reports further noted that three men carjacked Cummings and drove away in his car.
The police deputy says Cummings was shot and taken to the Orlando Regional Medical Center where he died.
The police deputies have also noted that the victim’s car is still missing, but they are not releasing details on the make and model of the car as investigators work some leads.
The daughter of the deceased, who remains unidentified for fear of her safety, also noted that her dad moved to Florida in 2003 after retiring from New York hospital as a security officer.
“It’s just shocking for all of us to know that our father will never return home again,” she said. “He didn’t deserve this and I want the killer to be identified and justice to be served,” she added.
