According to the latest statistics provided by the Statistical Institute of Jamaica, STATIN, Jamaica’s Gross Domestic Profit, GDP grew by 4.2 per cent in the first quarter of 2023.
It notes that the growth in GDP was powered by 5.4% overall growth in the services industry and a 1% growth in the goods producing sector.

Meanwhile, a 114.7% expansion in mining and quarrying did a lot for the goods-producing sector.
Finance Minister Nigel Clarke says “This now represents 8 consecutive quarters of economic expansion.”
More details to come.
