Rap superstar and entrepreneur Jay Z could add “football club owner” to his portfolio following reported links to a joint taker over bid for English Premier League club Everton FC.

According to reports, Jay is among a group of potential investors approached by US businessman John Textor, 58, who is looking to launch a takeover bid for the club.

Textor revealed last week that the deal for his buy into the team ownership has progressed, however, he would need to drop his reported 42% stake in fellow EPL team club Crystal Palace.

Should an agreement with “Jigga” materialise, it would certainly widen his growing influence in the sporting arena, with his sports management agency- Roc Nation Sports, already having some of the biggest names in its stables.

Real Madrid Star Vinicius Jr and Napoli striker Romelu Lukaku are among the standouts.

The deal would also make it the latest sports team Jay-Z would have an ownership stake following his previous minority share in NBA team Brooklyn Nets before relinquishing his partnership due to a conflict of interest.
