The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) this morning opened the doors of its expo at the National Arena in Kingston, which is for members of the public to engage and understand the new capabilities of the police force.
According to the communications unit of the JCF, the EXPO, dubbed ‘Transformations – People, Quality and Technology (PQT)’, is a historical moment for the JCF, as it aims to deliver cutting-edge technology-driven exhibits and booths.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, in charge of Development and Logistics, Dr. Kevin Blake, reportedly said the expo is meant to allow persons to see and feel the JCF in a way they never have before and connect.
From facial recognition to license plate recognition, the Constabulary has it all and, according to a citizen of Waterhouse in St. Andrew, Mitzie “Mi impress BUT mi hope dem can solve crime wid all ah dis”.
A female student from Pembroke Hall also commented saying “JCF well advance” as she looked on the showcase of cocaine search with the JCF’s Search Dog Avicci.
Additionally, Commissioner of Police Major General Antony Anderson engaged several students and says he is pleased with the interactions and the interest they have shown in the protection of themselves and the country at large.
Meanwhile, Minister without Portfolio in the Office of the Prime Minister Floyd Green who continues to champion the new age of technology and its use, is also pleased with what he has called “The New JCF”.
The JCF’s ‘Transformations – People, Quality and Technology (PQT) Expo’ will continue until Sunday, May 14 at the National Arena.
