Jill Stewart, the wife of well-known businessman Adam Stewart has passed away.

Adam broke the news in a lengthy post on Saturday. He wrote, “It is almost unimaginable that it has come to this. Still, with unbearable grief and a broken heart, I let you know that my wife Jill, the love of my life, my best friend of 28 years, and mother of our three wonderful children passed away.”

She passed away peacefully and was surrounded by loved ones.

Jill who was a marathon runner, who according to the family eats, sleeps, and drinks healthy – was diagnosed with sarcoma, an uncommon group of cancers which affects the bones and connective tissues such as fat and muscle.

Since then her diagnosis last year, it has been a challenging time for the family but today, the news of her death has saddened many in Jamaica and Bahamas where she was very well loved.

Jill, originally born and raised in the Bahamas, moved to Jamaica in 2005 when she married Adam in 2009 who at the time was CEO of Sandals Resorts, he is now the CEO and Executive Chairman of the ATL Group which includes Sandals and several other companies.

Jill had opened up about cancer and how she had been managing. According to Adam, she was deeply touched by the many words of comfort.

He said Jill was also motivated by the impact her story had on others and how it has helped others to protect themselves.

He wrote “Time with the ones you love is what life is all about. Jill believed this to her core and told us so time and time again. She fought harder than anything I have ever seen and never ever gave up. Hers will forever be a story of courage, strength, and grace. We are shattered to begin this new journey without her but the love she left us will be our guide.“

Adam expressed gratitude for the love and support of encouragement. He also added that his family is “forever grateful”.
