Reggae Girlz striker Jody Brown scored two goals in the National Collegiate Athletic Association(NCAA) championship finals as Florida State University (FSU) beat Stanford 5-1 to lift their fourth Women’s Championship title.
Brown opened her account in the 30th minute to double FSU‘s lead 26 seconds after Jordynn Dudley gave the “Seminoles” the advantage in minute 29.
Brown, who was making a run out of the midfield, showed immaculate composure to calmly control a long ball from Dudley on her left foot inside the box before threading past the Stanford keeper to make it 2-0.
The Jamaican doubled her tally in the 53rd minute with another superb volley inside the box to restore Florida’s 3-goal lead after Maya Doms cut Harvard’s deficit a minute earlier to make it 4-1.
Beata Olsson(59′) and Onyi Echegini (85′) were the other scorers for FSU on the night.
The win ensured they completed the 2023 season unbeaten as Brown secured her second NCAA title.
